Kiritappu Wetland of Flowers

- With average annual temperature of 5.5℃, many plants categorized as highland vegetation are found in cool Kiritappu Wetland. Moloniopsis japonica-Sphagnum communities in the south. Because seawater flows back from the moufh of the Biwasegawa River to the center of mire at high tide, salt-marsh vegetation such as Triglochin maritimum and Salcornia europaea are also dominant.

- From May to October, colorful wildflowers such as Japanese Rose Rosa rugosa Thnub, Cotton Grass Eriphorum vaginatum, and Blackberry Lily lris setosa highlight the mire. In July, the land is colored orange with Ezokanzo Hemerocallis dumortierii, Day Lily, carpeting it.
